OUR LEGACY
Say ‘Howdy’ to Martin, Deborah, and Jim
~In loving memory of Susan Davis Johnson~
Sue Johnson was president of the Eagle Valley Riders and of the Nevada State Horseman's Association. She became involved in the International Arabian Horse Association for many years. Her dedication with children and horses led her to be Equitation Chairman for the Arabian association. Susan took pride in watching her daughter win national champions in saddle seat equitation and working cow horse. She loved to watch horse competitions and loved the beauty of English and Park horse classes.
In 2005, the Johnson's sold the ranch that had been in the family since 1915 and built the Reno-Tahoe Equestrian Centre in Steamboat Valley. Susan and Martin purchased a motor home and took life "on the road." They traveled around the country visiting friends and historical locations - all the while leaving the harsh Reno winters.
Sue always enjoyed following Michigan State's success in football and basketball. She especially loved attending football and basketball games at the University of Nevada Reno. She loved to help coach!
Susan is survived by her husband Martin of 41 years, daughter Deborah Johnson, son-in-law Jim Anderson, grandchildren Max and Hannah Anderson, and great grandchild Ellie, all of Reno.
